MANJIMUP

This little gem is a refurbishment and extension of an existing 1920’s farmhouse for our clients historical family home. Using as much of the 100+ year old timber structure as we could we have kept the existing roof profile and extended it to express the form of the house as a single low horizontal element that stretches out and floats above the landscape.

The form of the house stretches along the contour line of the hill so that when read from a distance it sits lightly within the landscape

Sliding timber screens made with Jarrah from the farm will mediate the afternoon sun during summer but allow for the view to open up and the light to flood in during those cold Manjimup winters.
