CRESWICK COMMUNITY HUB

Amass Architects were engaged to develop a design proposal for the refurbishment of a library and community hub in regional Victoria. This building has to do a lot with a little - It is a library space, a research space, a social space and performs all the municipal functions for the community.

Opening up a lightwell at the centre provides natural light deep into the plan. We have proposed a bright pallete of materials to exaggerate the scale of the compact space. Planting is used alongside locally sourced timber throughout to bring a natural tactility to the spatial experience and reference the rich timber milling history of the area.
